A Fundraiser to benefit Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida

In this political season, it seems particularly relevant to remember the Planned Parenthood Gala I planned last year at the Alfond Inn in Winter Park, FL. The fundraiser was entitled “Fighting for Truth + Care for All”. These words represent what Planned Parenthood stands for, and I support them whole-heartedly. This also seems an appropriate time to encourage you to VOTE, so your voice will be heard.

Pat Schroeder, a former Democratic United States Representative from Colorado, was the guest speaker for the Planned Parenthood Gala. Pat’s enthusiasm and long-time support of women’s rights helped generate excitement for the benefit. Her words at the event hit home to all who attended and helped fundraise for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida.

A Photo-Op for the Gala

Pat Schroeder is engaging and well known and we knew attendees would be anxious to speak with her. So we decided to create a photo-op during cocktail hour in The Conservatory at the Alfond Inn. We brought in a step-and-repeat in the Planned Parenthood pink color so guests could be photographed with Ms. Schroeder.

Decorating and Designing the Ballroom

We wanted the ballroom to reflect the colors of the event – pink and blue. In order to do this, we utilized vibrant uplighting around the room. We also added custom candy bars around the tables for a splash of color. The candies had the event logo for brand recognition. Additionally, we placed programs with our event logos and colors on each chair. And finally, we put Planned Parenthood pink pens at each table setting.

In order to warm up the table décor for the Planned Parenthood Gala at the Alfond Inn, we had beautiful floral arrangements created with different hues of white and textural greenery. Guests could make a donation in order to bring the centerpieces home with them.

The fundraiser was a huge success, and attendees went home feeling informed and empowered. I hope more people will recognize Planned Parenthood’s message and continue to “Fight for Truth + Care for All.” And please, be sure to VOTE so that we can ensure women’s rights are secure!
